Hi Neil
...and welcome to Talking Scot :D

The christening dates of the children can be found on the free website http://www.familysearch.org

Father: Alexander Carmichael, Mother: Janet Mortimer

MARJORIE CARMICHALL - International Genealogical Index
Gender: Female Christening: 16 AUG 1713 Elgin, Moray, Scotland

JANET CARMICHALL - International Genealogical Index
Gender: Female Christening: 20 MAR 1720 Elgin, Moray, Scotland

JAMES CARMICHEL - International Genealogical Index
Gender: Male Christening: 30 JAN 1722 Elgin, Moray, Scotland

MARGT. CARMICHEL - International Genealogical Index
Gender: Female Christening: 03 MAR 1724 Elgin, Moray, Scotland

JOHN CARMICHAEL - International Genealogical Index
Gender: Male Christening: 19 FEB 1727 Elgin, Moray, Scotland

- the birth dates do not seem to be given on IGI and may not be mentioned in the OPR either. You would really need to check the wording on the OPR, but usually if both birth & christening dates are given they find their way into IGI. The OPR wording may give you further clues too, such as an occupation for Alexander for instance, or perhaps a place of abode; OPRs vary a lot, so you may find there are no further details given.

Best wishes
Lesley
