Hi Elmca, good to hear that you found some evidence to build on.
My parents lived in a house just above the old graveyard, hence my knowledge of Stow despite my domicile in a "foreign" clime.
Now, if only I could find a stone in Kilninver, I would solve a great mystery as to my paternal line...

It's quite amazing, how one can trace his family history. I wish we had forum like that in Poland.
Variety is a spice of life, it inspires creativity.

Hi JJohnston2020

Its the members who make this forum so successful. If there isn't a similar forum in Poland for Polish family connections you could start one if you have a few friends interested in genealogy. TalkingScot is a free site, not reliant on any advertising for its maintenance and completely organised and managed by volunteers.
All we have in common is Scottish connections, a love of genealogy and enjoy helping others find their long lost ancestors using skills we have all built up over years of carrying out our own searches.
We have a couple of members in Poland with Scottish links and quite a few members across the world who have Polish connections as well as their Scots ones.

P.S. If you want to find out more about how TS is set up you could send a Personal Message (PM) to any of the Admin team.
