Hi

I am looking for the marriage of James Johnston b. 11 Novenber 1745 and his wife Agnes Martin b.abt 1749 believed to have married December 1770. Can any one help please?

Unlikely that you will get any more information other than this.
There may be something in the kirk session records if their oldest child Euphemia was born before they married.
The information to the IGI is by submission rather than actual birth date.


The IGI gives listing of children and some of their spouses but all are submissions and must be treated with caution.

According to the IGI their marriage was in New Monkland, December 1770 (this was an extract, not a submission).

Hi Rachel

Thanks for your help at least I now have it confirmed that they married in Decmeber 1770 as I don't completely trust the LDS. They are useful for giving you iformation to work on.
