Hello Chris,

I still can’t see anything on the SBS Website about it. That’s not to say it isn’t there, just that my browser thinks the site is too much show and not enough go.

At a guess I would expect them to be of one hour duration if only because it will look a bit odd if the 6 Australian episodes are screened directly after the 6 British ones, and in the same timeslot as a 12 week series, and they are of different lengths.

But then you never know.

TONIGHT 8.30 p.m. SBS TV AUSTRALIA

Friday 16th November
Two Men In A Trench: The Battle Of Flodden.

In 1513 Europe was in turmoil. The King of England, Henry VIII had crossed the Channel and invaded France. The French were Scotland's historic ally and James the IV, the Scottish king, felt duty bound to come to their assistance. He did this by invading England, leading one of the best equipped armies Scotland was ever to send across the border. Thomas Howard, Earl of Surrey, brought the English army north to repel them. The two huge armies met at Flodden, and after just three hours of battle, 12,000 men and the King of Scotland lay dead.

Neil and Tony start their archaeological expedition by trying to locate the Scottish defences and gun emplacements on the Hill of Flodden.

Makes me wonder if one of mine was amongst the nameless thousands who died.
Don't miss it.

Thanks Trish,

I haven’t done a lot of Link Lopping but as long as you leave on the bit that identifies the page, in this case WHODOY it usually seems to work ok.

I enjoyed some of it - I always love shots of Sydney Harbour & no doubt we'll see many of them :D

The show seemed to bring in a few irrelevant items - perhaps to show what was available - I would love the access and help he was given at the Mitchell library.

It ended very well with the Australian "Royalty" - hanging the portraits in the barn seems rather sad.
