Hi and thanks Lesley, Chris and Currie. I appreciate the links and will look them up soon.
Currie, I don't really want to put the names on the forum, as there just may be family who would come across it and not be pleased. Suicide is such an emotive issue and I would not like to stir up bad memories for anyone. However, I am happy to PM anyone their names, if someone was willing to try a look up somewhere for me. Just let me know, via PM if you would like.
Nina

Hi Currie,
I am just keeping it safe. The privacy issue regarding the recent additions to the Scotland's People Index have been raised here, and while the death I refer to happened in 1956, it is still very close to the cut off.
I am thinking these people could be someone's grandparents, people who in all probablility are alive today. While I have no proof that the couple had children, there are a couple of possibilities on the index, which of course I can't prove without forking out more than I can afford.
I know in my family at least, younger generations are not told all the family details, and I would hate for someone to discover the fate of their close family on a forum. And while specific names don't come up on a google search, this website does, and from there it can be searched. People who are not into generalogy search for their family names all the time. Most of my contacts have just been bored and typed their family name in to see what came up. Given that the wife's name is fairly unique (in my honest opinion) it would easily turn up in a TS search.
So, if you want to know....just PM me.
