Those were the days and they were just the attractions of the job.

Ag Labs are a dying breed but no doubt there are still millions of them scattered over the Planet and living exactly the same sort of lifestyle and no doubt millions of others are aspiring to such an occupation.

All very interesting.

There are two farms for sale "for development" around here (Scottish Borders) and I think that soon we won't have anyone left here that knows how to grow food and look after animals.
Sorry a bit of a tangent, and a bit political :(

A bit further off on the tangent Dorothy,

While shopping at my local Supermarket recently I felt the urge for some hot chips. Decided I would buy some potatoes, cut them up at home and deep fry them myself. I checked out the price in the Fruit and Vegetable section and thought I would have a look at the frozen variety.

There they were, lovingly cut into wiggly shapes, liberally oiled with something or other, neatly packed in plastic bags, sitting in an energy consuming refrigerator. After having been transported 12,000 miles or whatever all the way from Holland (I think) they were still only about two thirds the price per kilo of the local spuds.

I bought the frozen ones but one of these days ……….
