A further look reveals that 11 rows down there is a further entry for the same address:

Saturday, October 10, 1903, Irene May, Price, , d, John Charles, Price, Emily , Price, 33 Gwent Street Pontypool, collier, 12/7/1898

If the "d" means died then this is not my man as he was born in 1884 and single on the 1901 census. ](*,) Oh well . . . . . . .

It looks like it means daughter Lorna.

This is them in 1901, all born Pontypool -

26 Gwent Street

John Price 31 Coal Hewer
Emily Price 27
Irine Price 2
Emily Price 7 Months
Elizabeth Price 82 Mother

Wee Elizabeth along with John and Arthur is with them at No 33 in 1911

Thanks for that Annette. Good of you to look up the census too. Sorry I didn't reply sooner I didn't get a heads up email.

Well, that makes another John Charles Price I can strike off the list of possibles as his mother def. died when he was 1 yr old and I know where he was in 1901.

Lots of John Charles' - I think it must have been a name like Jean Pierre or Ann Marie !
