I too wish you success as you all work really hard to keep things humming along. Don't forget that you have more than a few loyals who likely will never make it to a gathering in person. I understand that paypal and tombolas are not for everyone but it did help us over the ponders and down underers feel a part of something important.
Best wishes

Just to add a bit of spice to the event we can also celebrate TalkingScots 10th Birthday. To be pedantic – it's not until December but what the heck !
Thanks Marilyn and Jean who have been part of the team for a looong time
Kilbarchan is not far from Glasgow although there is no rail link and there is no hotel in the village.
I will check for B & B's locally and post soon. The nearest rail station is Johnstone about ten minutes away from Kilbarchan. The Airport is close by too. Kilbarchan may be an historic weaving village but we don't have stagecoaches now only a more prosaic bus service from Glasgow.
The days content is roughly as in my first post with possibly a session on Old Parish Records as well so the tentative structure will be:-
Registration at 9.30
1st talk 10.00
Coffee 11.00
Next chat session 11.30
Lunch 12.30
Chat 1.30
Small group exercise 2.30
Coffee 3.00
Round-up 3.30
If you intend coming just let me know.
Russell

I'm sure if Jean and I had been given the opportunity to do lookups at the NEHGS library in Boston, we would have had a great time doing so, right Jean?
But it was unfair to put all the responsibility of going to Edinburgh and doing extensive research on Lesley and Andrew, who are both still working full time. Wish there was some way around it, but so far nothing has materialized. Maybe we could consider prizes involving lookups in Australia, Canada, England and the U.S. as well as lookups in Scotland and share the work around
Best wishes,
Sarah

I would love to be there - if only I could teleport myself to Scotland in the same way that it appears some of my ancestors came to Australia - I would join the party.

Hi Trish. I wish there were fewer miles between here and Australia/N.Z./Canada/.... so that it could be a hiuge gathering. To have so many friends yet know so few faces
If anyone can hire Dr. Who's Tardis go ahead and I'll reimburse you
So far only a few folk have confirmed their interest so if anyone else is planning to attend could they please let me know very soon otherwise I will need to change arrangements to work with smaller numbers. The Admin team will be there . An event I am looking forward to immensely so roll on the 11th.

Re: TS Seminar in Kilbarchan Saturday 11th October.
I would have liked to have come - but that's the start of the schools' October week so I'll be en-route to somewhere [ destination unknown].
Maybe another time.
