Hi Rab,
If you don't have Windows Picture and Fax Viewer then a good, free, viewer to use, especially for TIF files, is IRFanview. You can download it here:

http://www.irfanview.com/
Thanks for that; I'll look into it but since I get so confused at times with all this computer software I think I'll probably go with StewL's advice and stick with what I'm comfortable with for now.

Regards,
AnneH

It is good advice. The more familiar the better to be honest if you are not sure.

Hi
I can't afford XP Professional but XP Home has the same image viewer and once you have saved your file you just double click it to open in the viewer. If you need to fiddle with the image (you can click the Right icon on the lower tool bar to open the editing bits. If you are not sure what the various buttons do - hover the mouse over them and the name comes up

If you download faded images it is quite good fun to join the dots in the worst parts of the writing. Just like these books we used to get as children!! :o

Thanks Russell

For the information on XP home.

Never tried to play around with joining the dots on faded images, I don't know if I have the patience I had as a wain  or the steady hand

First you have to buy a will, - £5 irrespective of the number of pages, - then you are allowed to view it and download it to your computer, - just follow the instructions.

Hi Lizzie,

As the wills are saved as JPG images, most people view them in their internet browser program, most commonly Microsoft Internet Explorer (IE). In most cases, when the image is bigger than would normally fit on a page IE can do nothing to re-size it.

My method is to right-click on the will page, and then choose the Save Picture As option. Then save the page to your computer. This has to be done individually for each page (or double-page) viewed.

When the pages are all downloaded to your PC, find some program other than IE to view each JPG image in. Hopefully that program will have an option where you can tell it to fit one page, usually in the print procedure. Then print...

All the best,

Andrew Paterson

Thanks Andrew, I can do the first part but fitting page is another matter. When trying to pint a reasonable size without a magnifying glass only one side prints, always the left hand side of the 'now too large to fit' page, if you get my drift!
