Hmmmmm..... very interesting. Looks like Jamie gives one reason for the missing files and Mark, who answered my email tells me it isn't possible for the files to have been deleted.
Unfortunately I deleted his email to me.
Whatever the reason, I was happy that they gave me the credits to get the extracts again. Mark did mention that he was giving me the credits due to the large amounts of credits I had previously purchased from SP.

They are probably both right in that it's not possible for them to interfere directly with images "stored" in your account; but if a re-indexing means that a reference in your account no longer links to an image ...........
It shouldn't be a case of giving you credits just because you've bought a lot previously. That shouldn't come into the situation. What should rule is the SP guarantee of "Once viewed and paid for, always available to you".

Off the top of my head Davie,I have the marriage of :Andrew Queate to Janet Holmes 23 July 1868.One of the first images I got from SP in Nov.also the Death cert. for their son James in 1901 which I got at about the same time. They were in my viewed file at SP a few weeks ago but now it says I've never seen them ,yet I have copies in my hand.
The thing is how do you prove you saw an image after it is gone from your viewed files. As to mine I have a copy already but what of ones I thought didn't fit at the time but now with more digging they will but are gone?

Let's get this clear, - as there's a UserGroup meeting in early April, and I intend to take up this subject, - the search is still there in "Previous Searches" showing the image as having been viewed, but the image is not there in "Viewed Images" ??

for eg.I looked up a marriage for :
Andrew Queate
up pops 2,one my gggreat grandfather, one his grandson.
According to the little thingys to the right I haven't seen either but i've got the paper in my hand.
I checked viewed images today and it's there.
Not a prob here but with my family repeating names over and over I have viewed images I've seen because they say I haven't.
Is that more confussing?

Yes !!
As that sounds like the image is there in your "Viewed Images" list, but when you look up the search in your "Previous Searches", the relevant image(s) are not shown as "View (Paid)" but instead are showing up as "View (5 credits)"...........
Is my understanding correct ?
