Hi folks,
I think what had surprised Andrew was Ancestry implying they have 1841 Scottish census records,
which are (all?) under GROS's control, but by contract / partnership can only be viewed on SP?
(and that although Ancestry said UK records, might've had in small print somewhere - "excluding Scotland")
Jack
ps, thanks Tracey, now we know!

Thanks to the diplomats above. Yes, I was questioning Ancestry's claim to be showing Scottish census records, not the online presence of the 1841 census on SP (GROS's website by partnership).

Like many of you folk out there, my credit card has been in use at SP over the last 24 hours, with a good measure of success in the 1841 census department. It beats the many hours trawling through microfilms, particularly for parishes that have never been indexed before.

All the best,

AndrewP

Hello Angel

I subscribe to Ancestry and I hadn't realised 1841 was now available - so many thanks for the posting. It seems after massive system overloads in the past no-one advertises a new census available any more :D :D
