Hi Anne

I would like to add my own agreement to what Anne and others have said about changing names to sound less Irish.

By coincidence I found O'Neills morphing into Neil around the same time as Anne found her friends lang deid yins. It is in my cousins line, her fathers ancestors morph from O'Neill into Neill around 1874/6, and remained Neil's ever since.
