The search facility for Viewed Images and Previous Searches would be SUCH an improvement!!!! I am also pleading for it to be up and running as soon as possible!

Now, on another thread I mentioned the alphabetical order function. It has NEVER worked correctly for me...this is what I have to do to get the surnames to be alphabetical:

I click on the description column. Up comes the FIRST page ONLY in alphabetical order for that page's searches ONLY.

I then go to 2nd page, and it is back to being ordered by date.

So I click on the description comumn in THAT page...and it comes up alphabetically but starting from Z #-o

Soooooo... I again click on Description column to get it from A-Z.

I go to page three and do the same flipping things for that page

If I know my required entry is about in the middle of my pages, then that is where I start, but it is the same scenario there too.

So you can all probably see why I would be so THANKFUL for a search facility!!!!!

I know exactly what yo mean, Nina.

I'm quite sure that those very clever people who designed that site REALLY put their minds to it they could sort out the underlying database and the pages so that the order we set stays till we change it or log out.

However, if trying to do that were to risk holding up a search facility, Id rather have searching provided :D

Well! The other day I bit the bullet and started to cull the previous searches that were big mistakes  All I am praying for now is that something doesnt crop up that links the time frames to the ones I have deleted. [-o<

Hi stewL,

Well that is the thing...I am too scared to delete my 'errors' in case they fit in later! For example all my early Eastons come from Renfrewshire, and I have found that some do interconnect, but when I viewed them I had NO idea that they would! So I am now keeping a file on my own PC called Unconfirmed Eastons...and have already moved some of them into my known family file.

I have a kid free weekend coming up, (ie: my OWN time :D ) and I intend to go through my viewed images for some of my other branches and save the unknowns to their own folder.
