I wonder if it's worth pursuing church records.
In 1841 there are these 2 boys living at the minister's house at Deanston.
Rev. Thos Hyslop 45
Charlotte Hyslop 50
Thomas Mcgibbon 12
William Mcgibbon 8
Isabel McJunes 30
Janet Mclaren 20
Hopefully there is something about them in the Kirk Sessions and you never know they might be related to Mary.
Regards,
Annette

Re: Help to transcribe place name.
Hi Margaret,
Another possibility to consider is Robert McGibbon, a 27 year old baker in Glasgow, from Perthshire Doon, with his wife Mary (age 27 from Hamilton, Lanarkshire).
Food for thought,
AndrewP

He leads nowhere for you either. He was dead before March 1855, when she re-married. No sign of a death record (OPR or start of 1855).AndrewP wrote:Another possibility to consider is Robert McGibbon, a 27 year old baker in Glasgow, from Perthshire Doon, with his wife Mary (age 27 from Hamilton, Lanarkshire).
Their marriage in 1849 produced one child, Mary, in September 1851.
Ah well,
