How I Found You

Post by GTSCOT » Sat May 14, 2005 10:12 pm

I had been a forum member-user on ScotlandsPeopledotGov. I just read the latest published minutes and saw mention of this site. Too bad they didn't put the link on their now defunct users group, or on their list of other resources available. Also would appear that the SCPDG forum was shut down for other reasons besides a "SecurityBreach". Anyway many thanks to those who set this site up. I see many of the old names on the board. It's great to have such a usefull resource available again. Thanks

Hi GTSCOT and welcome back! Glad you found the new site. We're all waiting very patiently for the new and improved SP site to be launched which will (drumroll please!).....have a link to TalkingScot! In the meantime enjoy what we have to offer and make yourself to home!
Best wishes
Jean

I logged on to Scotlands People to see What's New - and read about you in the minutes from their 7th meeting - so immediately signed up! Looking forward to making even more progress in my family tree research. Thanks!

I have been using SP for a few years but read about TalkingScot in the News to Peruse section of my May/June 2005 issue of Everton's Genealogical Helper.

Happy Hunting.....

Thanks for that. It was my task to send off the editorial material to the US gen mags, but, as I no longer subscribe to any of them, I've not been able previously to check if any of them used it.

So great to hear that it appeared in Everton's !!

Any chance of a scan of the page with the editorial piece to davidwwebster@compuserve.com ? Pretty, please :!:

Davie,

I will be happy to scan the article for you. I will send that this morning when I get home from work (I work graveyard - 3rd shift - 11:00 pm - 6:00 am PST).

Just wondering, but do other countries call 3rd shift the graveyard shift or is this an American slang?

Happy Hunting....
