Searching for MCCREADIE, WILLS, WYATT in Queensland

Circa 1882, Margaret McCREADIE (widow), Jane (b. 1873, Ayrshire, Scotland), Isabella (b. 1876, Ayrshire, Scotland) and John (b. 1879, Ayrshire, Scotland) arrived in Australia, possibly via Townsville.

On 12 August 1895 in Queensland (possibly Innisfail area), Jane McCREADIE married Alexander Adie Wills. Their children were Margaret Isabella (b. 1897), William John (b. 1900), Robert (b. 1902), Jessie (b. 1904 d. 1911), Andrew (b. 16 Jun 1906, Mourilyn d. 05 Oct 1962) and Marion (b. after 1907). Andrew WILLS married Frances May RAWNSLEY (b. after 1907) on 07 October 1939. Sapper Andrew WILLS Q133119 enlisted at Cairns on 14 May 1942.

On 06 Jul 1899, at Cairns, Isabella McCREADIE married Albert Ernest WYATT (b. 22 May 1865, Clapton, Somersetshire, England). Their children were Jane (b. 25 Oct 1902 d. 27 Oct 1902), Annie (b. 25 Oct 1902 d. 29 Oct 1902), Daisy Alice (b. 11 Sep 1907), Flora Mary (b. 01 Jan 1904 d. possibly 06 Jun 1911), Ivy Isabella (b. 07 Aug 1905), May Eva (b. after 1907), Grace Margaret (b. 17 Jul 1900) and James (b. 22 Jul 1901 d. 23 Jul 1901).

Private John McCREADIE 6320, 15th Battalion, AIF died 10 Jul 1917 of wounds received in action and is buried in Strand Military Cemetery, Ploegsteert Wood, 2 miles south of Messines, Belgium.

I would be extremely pleased to receive any further information regarding any member of my extended family, most particularly Margaret McCREADIE and her final resting place.

That site wini looks like the go - thanks. I've been looking for a Qld site similar to look and set up of TS but have yet to locate one. I'll give this one a go and see what transpires.

Hello Jim

As I'm sure you know, tracing living folks in Australia isn't always easy, given the limitations on access to bdm data.

Post 1914 some qld bdm indexes, including deaths to 1964 are available on microfiche - probably at WA State library, LDS societies and gen societies.
A death certificate should tell you where Margaret was buried.
I assume you have tried the white pages to try and track any living descendants
The two sites I find most useful for cemetery records, outside of Brisbane are

Death certificates may be the quickest path to cemeteries (not that anything is very quick at the Qld registry)

I'm at my wits end with these relatives. I've been to our Battye Library searching for immigrants, both assisted and nominated, circa 1883.

Nil result for that or mother Margaret's death or unlikely marriage - even checked out SP for a second marriage prior to emigration - nope!

I think I'll put them on "hold", review my holdings and re-assess my strategy.
