Hi Dennis
I think the children are as follows
Betty age 14 employed at home
Mary age 12
Margt which I think may be short for Margaret age 10
Hendry age 8
Ann age 6
William age 3
Christiene or Christina not sure of the spelling age 1.

Rita.

I must admit I thought the second daughter was Lucy. No on second thoughts it is definitely Mary. Shame, because Lucy is a lot less common.

Hi Dennis,

He's not with the family in 1861 and there doesn't seem to be a death for him on SP. Perhaps he died between 1851 and 1855.

Regards,
Annette

Hi Dennis & Annette,

Hen(d)ry had left home by 1861 and was living in Perth.

Name: Henry Deas
Age: 18
Estimated Birth Year: abt 1843
Relationship: Head
Gender: Male
Where born: Damhead, Perthshire
Registration Number: 387/1
Registration district: Perth Burgh
Civil Parish: Perth Burgh
County: Perthshire
Address: 266 High Street

Damhead was the village in Arngask parish where his family was shown in 1851.

And Henry died in 1862.

All the best,

Many thanks to all :)

Does anyone know if there was a Buntry Hall in Damhead? Its on a couple of DCs for the Deas children; eg: Christina, who died at age 15 is listed for that location.

Hi Dennis,

From looking at the old maps online, Damhead seems to be the older name of the village of Glenfarg. I cannot see Buntry Hall on any of the maps on the NLS website. I can only presume it is a building within the village, but these maps are not of the right scale to show the individual buildings.

All the best,

AndrewP
