Old Montrose photos

Post by Maggie64 » Thu Mar 05, 2009 7:21 pm

Hello frae Canada,

I am hoping that out there will be able to help me to find any Old photos of Montrose on Queen Street that is my ancestors the Brannen families lived in 1830's to 1860's. I have no idea if they were old flats or houses.

I have learned that buildings at 8 Queen Street in Montrose were knocked down after World War 2. Any chance to see any photos what they were looked like on Queen Street before they were knocked down? How do I get old photos of Montrose? Please advise me thanks again,

Maggie :)

My Grandad lived in Queen Street in the early 30's.

http://www.montrosesociety.co.uk/Past%2 ... resent.pdf If you go to page 41 there is a picture of Kincardine Street, on the corner of Queen Street probably pre-war. All more modern nowadays though - http://www.tduncan.com/_admin/pdfs/626.pdf

The Montrose Society web site has some great old pics.
