hi Paula
i have just been waiting on a email from my Brother to see what he thought of the very same people , hes a good bit older than me , anyway
what i knew myself was some man who had a bakery took my Granda out of the Poor House /Orphanage , and learnt him to be a bakery , they gave him a home ,
now we are no better off re his birth with this info , but its adding up better ,
as i dont have enough proof to get yet to go look at the poor records ,just if we could get him on a voters roll , census with this Family ,
all i remember was a story about the bakehouse being upstairs , and it overlooked a convent , cant remember the rest of the story ,
this all helps as going to try find out if either of these 2 girls of Roberts married ? Alexander and had a Daughter Maggie , as i do remember her ,
this would tie more in lol
thanks loads for the help

All you need to look up the Poor Relief Application Records at the Mitchell Library is a name.

Best wishes

well thats what i thought Lesley , but this woman cant remember her name said i need a dob , i now think looking again at the death cert , saying formally cameron hes been born as that then its changed ,as Mothers says afterwards Stewart ,
surely if i look up Camerons for each year , then Stewarts , i should get the same reg details? as they will come through as 2 enteries if you understand what i am saying , and the cameron one will have the rce on side ?
we cant get to the Mitchell till June so was hoping to at least have it narrowed right down by then ,
you wouldnt know if the LDS have these records in the FHC do you , as 2 near my Brother in Southport ,
thanks for reply

Hi Jan
and the cameron one will have the rce on side ? we cant get to the Mitchell till June so was hoping to at least have it narrowed right down by then
You will not be able to see the birth entry and/or RCE at the Mitchell. You would need to go to NRH in Edinburgh, or Park Circus in Glasgow, or search online at Scotlands People.
You would go to the Mitchell Library to look up the Poor Relief Application. And you would probably look under both the Cameron and Stewart surnames just to make sure you have covered all angles.
you wouldnt know if the LDS have these records in the FHC do you
No, they will not have original images of Scottish birth entries. The only places to see these are as stated above: NRH in Edinburgh, Park Circus in Glasgow, or search online at Scotlands People.

Best wishes
Lesley
