Hello Everyone

Well i'm back after some time, and looking for some
help, please!

My Great-Grandmother Margaret Douglas is shown in
the 1841 Scotland Census as being born in abt 1839
aged 2 and living at Sandport Street, North Leith,
Midlothian, Scotland. Reference Parish Number 692/1
ED:53, according to ancestry.com
The trouble is that i would like to see others on this
page, like other family, but no access available to
other information on this site. so i was wondering if
a kind person up there in Scotland might be able to
have a wee look at the Scottish census for this period
and advise me of this information, so i can continue
my family research.

Hope everyone is well,
Regards, Clyde

Welcome back Clyde.

You can easily get the official census image by going to Scotlands People [link at the top of the page] and buying a few credits to view ans download any of the census returns from 1841 - 1901 in Scotland.

In this case though Freecen http://freecen.rootsweb.com/cgi/search.pl has covered that particular area in 1841 and this is I think your little lady:

1841Piece: SCT1841/692 Place: Leith North -Midlothian Enumeration District: 53
Civil Parish: Leith North Ecclesiastical Parish, Village or Island: Leith North
Folio: 5 Page: 6
Address: Sandport Street
Surname First name(s) Sex Age Occupation Where Born Remarks
DOUGLAS John M 40 Tobacconist Outside Census County (1841)
DOUGLAS Janet F 32 Midlothian
DOUGLAS Thomas M 4 Midlothian
DOUGLAS Margaret F 2 Midlothian
DOUGLAS John W. M 1m Midlothian

Freecen doesn't seem to have the family in further years, so for those you'd have to go to SP.

Just to add to Wilma's info - at FREECEN you can view 'next households' so you can see who was on the same page as well as others living round about.
Alternatively you can put the street name in at Ancestry and every body at that street will come up.

Annette
