Hi Tracey,

Here are the directions from scotlandspeople regarding printing the 1881 census

Saving and Printing 1881 census pages
Printing Images
Unlike the 1891 and 1901 censuses where the pages of the enumeration books were digitised, the 1881 census index was transcribed into household groupings, and the results are presented as an html web page, not as an image. As such the 1881 Census is a text/HTML representation and does not contain an image and cannot be saved as an image. However, it is possible to use the copy and paste the information in your browser from where it can be pasted into an appropriate imaging package, cropped if needed, and saved as an image.

When printing out a transcription of the 1881 census, you can print using the browsers own print menu, remember to set the printer paper orientation to "Landscape".
