A relative, home from the anti-cuts (peaceful) demonstration in London yesterday has passed on to me a form picked up en route.
The well-laid out notice encourages readers to fill out "Supplementary Questions" and forward the finished product to the Census Processing Centre, UK.
Some of the information contained in the leaflet is as follows:
Guidance
1. Lockheed Martin UK will be acting as the prime contractor and will be developing the systems to be used to handle and process the Census data - UK Cabinet Office Report. (Lockheed Martin are being paid £150 million to run the census)
2. Lockheed Martin are the world's second-largest weapons manufacturer; they make "Trident" nuclear missiles, and own a one third share of Britain's Aldermaston atomic weapons facility. Currently, the greatest area of growth for Lockheed Martin is in "Intelligence and Surveillance", and as part of the work the company have been moving into data collection.
I won't quote any more for fear of being "moderated out" as being political but - our handy, wonderful census being useful from day 1 for "Intelligence and Surveillance" purposes
Please someone, tell me it's not true 'cos I'm seriously thinking of being a conscientious objector and burning my form.
