After spending half the night trying to be in first as we are ahead of GMT and adding lots to the Coffers I am already finding errors in the transcripts ,as on one page of my lot one ELI is down as PETER and his brother RUEBEN as RANKIN !!!!!!!
Was annoyed to find my head of house on the end of one page while all the others in family were on next page meaning I had to buy TWO pages to see them all.
How inconsiderate of them !

Hi Maureen,
Please complete a contact form on SP to report each of these. It's the only way they will be corrected for the future. If it cost you extra credits to find these people, mention that and you should be refunded some credits.
The people over the page have always been a contentious issue on SP.
All the best,
AndrewP

It took me ages to find my Mitchell family. Because it's such a common name I used the 2nd person search with various members of the family but was not coming up with any matches in the index.
When I eventually used the right combination that located them they were spread over 2 pages. The children on the second page had not been included as part of the household on the first page which is why the 2nd person forename wasn't working!!
The best laugh is if I had searched for just my other half's Grandfather with his exact age I would have spotted him right away - must remember that sometimes less gives more.
Regards,
Annette

When i looked for my granda i decided to put his sisters name in as i thought it would be easier. Its a good job i did as my granda is clearly written down as Nicol instead of Noel. I later searched for him as Nicol and there he was. Interestingly the family two doors away have the sir name Nicol and it made me wonder if the *man who did* still had this name on his mind when he wrote my granda's name

Scotland - Donaldson / Moggach / Shaw / Geddes / Sim / Gray / Mackie / Richards / Joel / Coull / Mckimmie / Panton / McGregor
Ireland and Scotland - Casey / McDade / Phillips / McCandle / Dinely / Comaskey + various spellings

On Andrews advice I filed a contact form re this and as expected this is the reply.
Thank you for your email.
At present, we are receiving a greater than normal amount of queries, but we will endeavour to answer you as quickly as possible.
My guess they will be VERY busy.
See how long until I receive a reply

I'm relieved to see it wasn't just me who had problems. I searched for isobella and got no results so I searched for her dad and had to view both record returns that weren't him. Ithen searched for mum Jane and luckily got her on the 2nd record I purchased, but was shocked to see both Isobella and dad alex (who I had originally searched for) listed there clear as day. I will now be sending my own comment to them.

Went back to have a further look as I thought I had missed something and I was right 4 out of 6 Childrens names have been mistakenly transcribed,
I have stated on my comment to S P that their transcribers should surely have the option of a second opinion if they are in doubt at what they are reading.
This is NOT acceptable .There is no need for such errors,as there are ways of verifing this as all my lot are clearly identifiable on the 1901 Census in the same City.

Hi Maureen,
As far as I know, the pages were digitally imaged first. Then these images were contracted out to a company who did the indexing. So they would not have had any other documents to refer to, such as earlier censuses. They would only have had the 1911 digitised pages that were in front of them.
All the best,

I dont know if it just me but some of mine are so hard to read with writing so light. I have also found a few mistakes with spelling names.
