Facebook accounts x 2

I have a Facebook account for Family History (or it was meant to be) but a friend of mine told a few people and well, you know the rest............
So, today it has taken me hours, due to something techi going on on Facebook, to open another account. When i click on say for example Account nothing happens, not a flicker, its like the site is temporarily dead. But now i have managed to get two accounts i want to be able to use both without having to log in and out of one to the other and i cant. I see someone i know doing it why cant i ?!. I have seen a *Link Accounts* but that isnt doing anything. I assume as the email addresses i am using are Google mail, Google is the option i should chose but it keeps then changing to *openid* Im not sure if the distruption i am experiencing on the site today has anything to do with the police and the riots her in England but its been a nighmare to use along with a well know auction site.

If anyone understands what i am rambling on about could you please help !!

Ok, i may have found the obvious solution......use two browsers

I'm not that techie, but couldn't you have just created a group within your existing account and invited people to it as you went along?

No, dont know ! i wanted an account in my own name. The one i use was a made up name. Ive done it now and unfriended people. I can always change it on another day when i have nothing to do !
