Crossgates the Wilkie family info

Hello Oldhug,
Have you looked at her death certificate on http://scotlandspeople.gov.uk to confirm the parents' names? I don't have any credits, so I can't confirm, but by searching I see there is a death in the Statutory Registers in Bathgate in 1868 for a Janet Wilkie, other surname Moodie, mother's maiden name Stevenson. However, her age at death is off from what we would expect from the 1804 birth date. The informant apparently gave her age as 53. You may be able to tell from the actual handwriting on the certificate if it is simply a transcription error or an error by the informant.

Very curious on the West Lothian Family History Society's burial register transcription CD

Bathgate Glasgow Road Cemetery, Paulville
Section K, Lair 13

Margaret Wallace/Moddie [Moodie?] aged 50 the widow of Robert Moodie slater, lived in Bridgend, Bathgate (not far from the cemetery), died 15 May 1868 and was interred 18 May 1868.

Is this a transcription error for her first name and maiden name?

Also buried in the same grave are

Janet Donald Moodie/Grant aged 34 wife of Robert Grant miner, lived in Bathvale [Bathville?], died 28 October 1869 of consumption and was interred 30 October 1869

Walter Halden Gowans aged 1 son of William Gowans miner, lived in Blackrigg, died 18 January 1882 of convulsions fits and was interred 22 January 1882

Joan McKie/Jonnston [Johnston] aged 62 wife of John Johnston cow feeder, lived in Armadale, died 2 April 1886 of bronchitis and was interred 22 January 1886

Not sure if the last two have any connection. There are images of the headstones in the cemetery on Billion Graves but I cannot see one for this grave so may be unmarked or illegible.

Interesting Eric are you saying that robert moodie a slater was married twice once to margert wallice and also to janet Wilkie? And if so where there any children from this marrage? As this is all new to me ?

The IGI shows 4 sisters for Janet. Mary born 1809, Margaret born 1807, Betty born 1802 and Isabel born 1806. Looks like Isabel married a John Johnstone in 1827.

I wonder if this is her in 1841 from FREECEN -

There is a will indexed at SP for a James Wilkie of Crossgates in 1843 but he's a farmer.
