Birrel's Bar Redding Falkirk

Post by WilmaM » Mon Jun 15, 2015 1:23 pm

this discussion has popped up on the Facebook Old Falkirk In Pictures group:
Looking for a little help here folks. There's a wee conversation going on in Birrels Bar redding about how long it's been a pub and if it was ever anything else. I've had a good rake around but can't really find a whole lot. Hoping someone here might have some info/pics
Full address if anyone knows of a site online that might have records showing what its been over the years.
46 Redding Road
Redding
FK2 9XL.
It isn't marked as a PH on the 1888-1918 map, though the building was there decades before that.

Somebody thought it was there at the time of the Redding Pit Disaster in September 1923.

Anybody any thoughts as to how they could find more information?

There was a local historian called Dennis Dishington, don't know if he's still alive, but would think that someone has taken over from him.
