1841 Glasgow or Kilmarnock .....

Hi

I am looking for Wlliam Muir and his wife Elizabeth who lived in Kilmarnock at one time. Also their son Murdoch I know he was in Glasgow in 1851 living on his own. Any help on this family would be appreciated.

Have you been able to search the 1841 Census since it came on line at SP. Though admittedly, Muir is not one of the easiest names to search for. Too many of them;

Hello Catroina

I found the family on freecen using sounex the family were listed as Moir and thanks to Jack =D> He found that the family name was recorded as Mair/s and I was able to tracke the through to 1871 and also find there death certs which gave me the parents.
