Wayullllll............ we've had the 1861 before the year end :!:

As far as I'm aware all the imaging is done for the 1841, and only some indexing quality control work was outstanding a month or so ago ............. so, without selling any hostages to fortune, "Winter 2005" still sounds a reasonable bet, but be aware that this may need to be interpreted as any time up to the start of Spring 2006 :!:

1851? ....... I'm less well informed on this, so can't comment.

Thanks David,
I can't do anything else until the 1841/51 comes out, so hopefully it'll be on time.
Thanks again

Hello Dawn,

I take it none of the places you are looking for are covered by FREECEN?

You can find the coverage here for the Freecen project in Selkirk. I don't see Selkirk as an option on the Freecen search engine I'm afraid.

FreeCen covers the whole of England, Wales, Scotland and the Channel Islands, - see http://freecen.rootsweb.com/

The 1851 census for the 3 SW counties has existed for a few years, - see http://www.dumgal.gov.uk/historicalindexes/census.aspx

This project - to transcribe and key into computer the returns of the 1851 Census for all the parishes of Dumfriesshire, Kirkcudbrightshire and Wigtownshire - was begun in 1990 and undertaken by the Friends of the Archives of Dumfries and Galloway and other volunteers.
