More "previous search" problems

Since the "upgrade" , I find the page number drop-down box isn't working - so you have to page through all your searches to find the one you want to revisit. I have submitted a contact form ...

Further when you view previous searches , you sometimes end up in a completely different set of results. This was a problem at the launch of the new site I remember.

Finally, I notice that the problem reported in October with the 1861 census for Ratho has still not been fixed. I was told that the problem had been passed to GROS as they deal with indexing - and I find it very surprising that this has not been fixed after all this time.

Yes Davie its a pain.

I've had my response to the pagenumber problem from Alison At SP :

This is a bug in the system which I am going to pass to our engineers/
development team to check. It may be that it will not be rectified however
until the next site upgrade.

In the meantime, the next / previous buttons are working. I am afraid you
will have to use these for now.

At least I know what is happening.
I wrote to them about my more serious problem regarding not being able to view records.
no reply as yet.

It worked once this morning but then kept putting me back to the page I logged on at.

Ditto; sent contact form yesterday. Its a major pain in the proverbial - when you have 72 pages of previous searches this slows things down to a snail's pace. Frustrating. Do you think they'll send me credits to buy a new mouse, 'cos this one won't last long at this rate!!!!

Not quite how I would have put it across.
Like yourself I have numerous pages on record.
And i have 39 credits lying at the moment and cannot "View" a page

I didn't think I'd get away with anything more, er...descriptive, on this site. What is it with this lot and their "upgrades"? Does progress always mean going backwards??

I'm sure they'll sort it all out eventually, but thats not really the point...

Just got word from SP on the click click problem

Here was my remedy.

1) Open Internet Explorer
2) Click on the "Tools" menu and select "Internet Options"
3) Under "Temporary Internet Files" click "Delete Cookies" and "Delete
Files".
4) Under "Temporary Internet Files" click the "Settings" button
5) Under "Check for newer versions of stored pages" change to "Every visit
to the page".
6) Click "OK"

Yes I got a mail from Alison yesterday - it has indeed been fixed =D> , and I think the problem with the wrong results showing might be too - or at least I can't simulate it anymore.

By the way - on the mails from SP , it says

PLEASE DO NOT RESPOND DIRECTLY TO THIS EMAIL. AS ALL CALLS ARE LOGGED.
FURTHER / ADDITIONAL QUERIES SHOULD BE ON A SEPARATE CONTACT FORM

How does one send a message of thanks ?
