NEW YEAR HANGOVER. Please help find cure.....

Happy New Year everyone. After a racing start on the Waddington family in Lanarkshire, I have hit a brick wall trying to find more details on William Waddington and Ann Stewart, who married in Cumbernauld on May 19, 1845. I know his parents were William Waddington, a weaver and Isabella (Elizabeth) Love and that he has siblngs Thomas and John, but have not got a clue as to where the couple set up home in the early days of their marriage. They are not showing up in any census although all their children seem to be gathered around the Lanarkshire area. Any assistance would be greatly appreciated.

Then you will undoubtedly be interested to see that the BIVRI cds produce two children (well actually William and Ann produced the children and the cds only produced the data ) How nice that baby Isabella could attend her parents wedding ! Oh ...but the point is....both births were registered in New Monkland.....so....my money is on their initial address being there.

Hello Jean. Many thanks for your help. Sorry I was a bit vague about my problem. I have the two children you mention, but William and Ann simply seem to have appeared from out of the blue and after their marriage they vanish again. Can't find a trace on birth or death registers and they don't seem to appear in the census reports. All I can find out from the marriage record is that William snr was the son of another William Waddington and Isabella or Elizabeth Waddington, maiden name Love. Hope you are well.

William has "re-married"? a Mary LECKIE who's previous hubby was a James TURNER.

Bathgate boy to Paisley boy, again many thanks. I see the next big hurdle being crossing the Border to the Waddington's traditional homeland, probaly Lancashire or Yorkshire. I'd a quick look at the 14yr old William in 1861 - just to see if he was as a nephew; glad to see he was.
And Janet was as married; so if true, then where's hubby Thomas got to?
Fortunately there are very few "Waddingtons" in Scotland.
