Poor House Govan.....

I have just found my GGGrandfather John Morton died in the Govan Poor House in 1906. Could some kind soul please enlighten me a little bit about Poor Houses. Many thanks

If you look under our Sources heading you will find a link to the Poor Houses of Scotland. Look under Lanarkshire will get you to Govan

Have also been looking at all the answers from others questions and getting some ideas how to get information from the Mitchell.
