Menzies 1851 Midlothian-help please .....

Hello everyone

I am look for the following family in 1851 especially Peter. SP do not show the family and I know Peter was still at home with his parents. Their father John was born outside the census county and I would love to know where that was.

This is the family in 1841.

Address: 107 Canongate, Lochends Close

MENZIES John M 30 Joiner Jrnymn OutsideCensusCounty (1841)
MENZIES Isabella F 30 Midlothian
MENZIES Alexander M 7 Midlothian
MENZIES Peter M 5 Midlothian
MENZIES John M 2 Midlothian

Can anyone help please?

Hi Angel

Just a thought - have you looked at the 49 John Menzies b/ba in Scotland in the year 1810 +/- 2 years on the LDS site? You might be able to recognise something from the names?

Hello Liz

Since I put in that posting I have gathered all 3 marriage certs for Peter and he claims his father is Georges Menzies a combmaker. The only Peter with a father George on SP in in Dundee 1853 which would make Peter age 9 when he had his 1st child

. Now I have to try and find a death for George Menzies which covers 19 years and that is if he is stil in Midlothian
