1851 census midlothian

Post by angel » Wed Apr 12, 2006 2:47 pm

Hello Everybody

SP has put a list on site as to what areas are missing from the 1851 census but Midlothian is not included. So why cant I find a census return for that area?

Hi angel

Far as I know there is no problem with the Midlothian districts. A test search in 1851 for John SMITH in Midlothian brings back 258 rcords. A test of John SMITH in Edinburgh City brings back 216 records. What name and area are you seeking???

Best wishes
Jean

Hello Jean

I have posted in the census board it is in the name of Peter Menzies age 15. The thing is I looked very quick look at the LDS microfilche to see if was still there but whaI did not know at the time was that his father was born outside the county.

There are 2 Peter's on SP but they are they are the wrong age and a search for one the right age onlt produced one in Perth.
