Hi:)
I'm wondering what the next step is. I've got a John Barr b1839 in Nottingham. That info was from the 18370nline site Vol XV Page 583. Would there be an actual birth document held somewhere that I can obtain?

Hi Dennis
WIth a registration district and reference number you should be able to go ahead and order the birth cert from GRO.
There is a link on the 1837 site to take you there. (top right of page order certificates, then scroll down till you see ordering a certificate from the GRO, then on the GRO page, scroll down to Ordering certificates online)
You just need to fill in a few forms, cough up £7 and the cert should arrive in a couple of weeks (sometimes sooner!)
Best wishes
