Contact Forms

Post by Caroline » Thu Apr 27, 2006 11:50 am

Just wondered if anyone else has had this problem.

I sent a contact form to SP yesterday regarding an illegible image, but received no acknowledgement nor reference number for my complaint which I've got on previous occasions. Thought I'd made a mistake so I sent it again, but still no luck.

Hi Caroline
I expect they may be quite busy. I've certainly had occaisions when a reply has not been immediate, but something has usually appeared within a couple of days - I'm sure they will get back to you when they can.

best wishes
Lesley

Hi Lesley,

Sorry probably wasn't clear in my post , but I wasn't referring to SPs reply. I just thought that when you sent a contact form you got an immediate acknowledgement of your complaint and a reference number for it. Or am I thinking of some other site!

Hi Caroline
OK, I understand what you mean - its so long since I've complained I'd forgotten about that bit!

Looking back in my email I see I do have automated replies of the type you mention. I think, depending on the nature of the query the message is forwarded to GROS or SP & I'm not sure if both of them generate an automated response or just one of them.

Sorry I can't be of more help....
Best wishes
Lesley

Just an update & with a cautionary tale.I recieved an e-mail back about my missing family-Andrew,James & Margaret Torrance in Dalry 1851.
I had the info from Freecen but when I tried to find them on SP no matter what permutation I used I just wasn't getting them.
Anyway the experts had a look & tried all sorts of permutations too but couldn't find them either despite the fact they are there on the page-"obviously misindexed" & have told me how to access it & refunded me some credits to do so.
So I wonder if some of our missing rellies are there just indexed under some weird & wonderful name.
