Hoping for an 1841 Census Look Up .....

Post by James Clark » Sun Jun 25, 2006 4:36 pm

Hello,

I've finally had a bit of a breakthrough this morning with one of my troublesome members of my family tree. (Of course, I've had the information sitting on my desk for weeks but didn't notice it!!! ).

I'm hoping someone would be able to look up Agnes Craig in the 1841 census.

She was born in Eyemouth, Berwick about 1833 according to the 1881 census. (I can find some of her siblings' birth records in Eyemouth, but not hers so I don't have an exact date).

Parents' names = William Craig and Isabel Houliston (married Oct 13, 1820 in Eyemouth).

Agnes was married June 11, 1854 in Glasgow, Lanarkshire. (To David McCulloch). I'm not sure when the move to Glasgow happened. FreeCen has no Berwick information yet for 1841 and Lanark is only about 50% complete.

I don't even want to think about the number of cresits I've spent on SP so far searching for Agnes. :!:

Any information that can be found would be greatly appreciated.

I could find 2 Agnes Craigs in Eyemouth - the other one seemed a better age match (age 7) but the two adults in the house were George and Agnes.

Is this one a match?:
