The Grauniad Article .....

Post by scooter » Mon Jul 10, 2006 6:14 pm

... in case anyone fancies some more knashing of teeth in light of the recent YFT post, here's something from The Guardian to get your chops around.

http://money.guardian.co.uk/weekly/stor ... 67,00.html

As you'll notice SP doesn't get a mention, and anyone reading the article would get the impression that the system north of the border is exactly the same as south. Lazy journalism?

Cheers,

Scott

"Probably the number one site for people starting out in genealogical research. Unequalled access to census records.
An example from the article regarding their write up concerning ancestry.co.uk .......... The cynic in me has a number of reactions but they are probably actionable under law

Hi David,

Sorry, what I should have said was the system for looking at images for BMD's is obviously a little different.

Nae prob, I was just winding you up with a Chic Murray type response.

To use a phrase coined by a colleague of Winnie Ewing, I wonder if the situation would change if we "ceased being a surly lodger and became a pleasant neighbour"?

BTW Winnie's autobiography is well worth the read..

This expatriot Scot had to pause and think "Who on earth is Winnie Ewing?"

Maybe it's time I returned to my native land to be re-educated!
Or buy a copy of DWW's recommendation of a book to read.:D

Best wishes
