Well done Scotlands People

Hi all,
Thought I'd share this with you all. After getting a 1901 census image for my 3rd G granndmother, Mary Wilson m.s. Forsyth who lived in Plean, Parish of St. Ninians, I noticed she had a grandson living with her, namely William Wilson aged 14 so thats 1885ish birth. Went to look for his birth, to see who his parents were (this was on 31 march). The search page came up with William in St. Ninians but when I proceeded to look at the record it was for 3 completely different people. Informed SP on contact form and received a reply on 1 April that they were very busy but would look into problem. On 4 March received an email saying I thanks for pointing out the link error and giving me my 5 credits back PLUS they would send me a paper copy of the record I was looking for. Received the photocpy this am 7 April. It was certainly worth it as it is for William Wilson or Mckay (illegitimate) but it gives the mothers name (Annie Mckay) and says she is a widow of Andrew Wilson who died 7 Jan 1881. The best bit is, I didn't know there was an Andrew Wilson. On the minus side, when I went to SP to get details I got an error "variable binding error" whatever that means, so at moment can't search  :x

Opps,
here I am again barking up the wrong tree  Turns out I already had Williams Cert, filed away in the wrong place!!. He was the son of James Wilson & Joan McAskill.
So if anyone wants info on Andrew Wilson wed to Annie Mckay, your welcome
These Easter holidays have turned my heid to mince
