Hi all,
new machine driving me nuts.
Using familysearch site - every time I go back- the boxes are blank, and I have to reinsert names.
Using SP - every time I go back, I have to Refresh, even in a matter of seconds. And sometimes have to re-enter info.
Thanks to Lesley (and my daughter ) I have some use of my Gen. 8.
But on some new entries:
Insert a date - tab - insert address- save, then the date disappears.
Same with names: Chritian name- tab- surname-save, Christian name disappears. Reinsert -save- surname disappears.
Can anyone help before my daughter leaves me for Uni.
She will also be away this Wed. until next Tues. (Italian car stuff).
And if it wasn't for these reasons, I think I'm driving her nuts as well.
Help my sanity please.

Re Gen. 8.
Hi Cathy,
Is it Generations Grand Suite Version 8.0 UK Edition by Sierra (20 CD set) that you're having trouble with?
If so, then that's why i had to get rid of it - it was deleting things without asking or telling me!
This even after i just viewed a person's details without altering anything....
Though i believe others on TS use the programme quite successfully.
Maybe it was just me that couldn't work it properly, but i felt i couldn't trust it.
Jack
ps, being a hoarder it's now at the bottom of the wardrobe - but i really should throw it out!
I'm now happily using Legacy.

Hi Jack
I had the self same problem once upon a time using Generations 8 so I backed up to Legacy (which I always do anyway) uninstalled Gen 8 and then reinstalled it and imported the gedcom from Legacy. That was about three years ago and it is still working perfectly well for me as I speak. I just love the simplicity and layout of it and was reluctant to give up on it. I sincerley hope that having said that doesn't jinx it
Cheers
