Combworkers

My ancestor, Daniel Stephen, was a combworker in Aberdeen.

What did this mean exactly and what sort of life would he have had, he was a young man in 1844. Thanks!

Combmaker - A maker of combs for textiles, or hair. See also Vulcanite Comb Maker (i assume this is the same as combworker ?)
