Some right unusual ones there

The best we have in my Lines are Gillies (my father) and Niven as Surnames but 2 of the relatives have "Motion" and "Moderate" as their middle names!!

Just read my post and it should be Gillies and Niven as First Names!!!

The Niven first name is connected to MacVicars from Glassary Parish in Argyll

Ach well, we all make mistakes
MacVicar is familiar to me though, an ancestor of mine married a John McVicar, I think it was an Ellen Ross but would need to do some checking.
They married in Edinburgh but don't know where John was from.
