Sewer of webs?

Post by Smudger » Tue Oct 31, 2006 11:10 pm

I'm sure this must be something to do with the weaving industry, but what?
It appears on 2 census entries for 1851 in the village of Laurieston in the parish of Falkirk. Both Mary Gibson (aged 35) and ? Sneddon appear on the same page of the census as 'Sewer of webs' or, at least, I think that's what it says.
Can anyone enlighten me, please?

Thanks in anticipation.
