Post by sheilajim » Tue Nov 14, 2006 1:27 am

Hi All

Am I the only one who has noticed that there is missing data on the Ancestyuk Scottish 1841 Census? :o

I have found that some information for Clackmanan and Fintry which are on the SP 1841 Census and are not on AncestryUk. 1841 Census.

Has anyone else noticed this?

In a perverse way  , good to hear that Ancestry also can make mistakes.

Doesn't surprise me in the least that anyone carrying out such a large task can miss the occasional record or even page.

It also occurs to me that GROS may have the advantage that if an error has been spotted in the microfilms (made quite some time ago inthe case of the older censuses), e.g. page omission, then they could well have corrected this, whereas Ancestry had to work off the microfilms.
