I am after any and all information on John McConnachy and his family. I have looked at the 1841, 1851 and 1861 census records and he is listed as working for the Coast Guard in Peterhead and Bridge of Don and Aberdeen.
Does anyone have information on the Coast Guard in Aberdeenshire in the 1800's?
Does anyone know anything about the McConnachy family in Aberdeenshire?
Many thanks

Can you give us a bit info?Where was he in the Censuses?Who was in the household with him.Any likely looking neighbours/visitors?What ages did he gave, birthplace? Was he head of household?
Little clues can help to pin somebody down to a place/family.

I am particularly eager to work out the exact DoB of John McConnachy (both the father who was in the Coast Guard but also his son who I think became a ship's captain in Australia) and Peter McConnachy (who was my GG grandfather.
Any help at all on the McConnachy family would be much appreciated!!

Hi McConnachy
I'm sure you will already have this site link - but if not hope it helps with your research - I found it quite useful to track down one of my lot.
