were names given as parents of Catherine Campbell born 1802-5 in Milwage Isle of Skye by a neighbour in the 1891 census...
Mary Ross was her mothers name
Catherine died on 7th January 1889 in Milivaig Isle of Skye
Trying to get information on Mary Ross and Kenneth or it could of been Angus or Alexander Campbell that she married...
The naming patterns of the Scots I find abit confusing, but am learning fast..
Would be pleased for any help

This looks like the family in 1841:
Millivaig, Duirinish, Inverness:
Kenneth Campbell, 70, Cotter. born Inverness
Mary Campbell, 71, Cotter, born Inverness
Mary Campbell, 28, born Inverness
The problem is in finding their marriage and children's births. The IGI records in Duirinish only go back to 1817. Where might locals have been christened and married before that? Or is it that the records were lost?
Regards,
Sarah
