Mining Accident
Hi can any body help I am looking for an accident report. My ggranda George Devan was involved in an accident in Boglea mine in 1947. He died later from the injuries in Feb 1948, I know there was an F.A.I.. But I want to see the accident report if there was one. Is there a site where I can view it. Hopefully I will go to NAS in Edinburgh to see the F.A.I. papers. Thanks

Hi
try http://www.mining-villages.co.uk/index.html
You may well find more detail there than anywhere else, short of looking up for news reports.

Try also contacting the Scottish Mining Museum at http://www.scottishminingmuseum.com/ who are supposed to have a comprensive accident database, including the official reports.

I asked about reports at the mining museum but it seems that their official reports are the same as on http://www.mining-villages.co.uk/index.html
At least that is the situation up to 1914 (I think), I'm not sure about later reports
