Forfar Police Officers.

Hi,

My mom's mom was the only child of her dad's 2nd marriage; her dad's 1st marriage produced 5 sons who, all born in Forfar, went to work as Police Officers there, supposedly one became a Chief of Police. All were born in the 1870's and their surname was Airth.
Whom would I contact regarding the validity of their employment as officers of the law?

Either Tayside police HQ in Dundee, or the library in Forfar.
